This year's Nature Festival will offer a wonderful selection of activities designed to entertain and educate participants about the wonders of the Texas Hill Country's natural resources. Festival HIGHLIGHTS include, a Birding Field Trip to Enchanted Rock, Nature Walks at the Nature Center, Hummingbird Banding, Bat Ecology of the Texas Hill Country, Nature Photography Workshop with Ruth Hoyt, Butterfly Tent, The Buzz About Bees, Snakes of Texas, Birdology and as an added attraction, Last Chance Forever will be exhibiting some of their raptors at the Pioneer Pavilion from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, April 25, 2015!

A beautiful array of rehabilitated raptors will be presented for your enjoyment and education, along with an amazing display of flight by some of the birds. Saturday, April 25, 2015 Nature Photography Workshop with Ruth Hoyt from 7:30 – 11:30am at the Tatsch House in Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park. Ruth Hoyt has been teaching wildlife photography for more than 20 years. Her work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institute, Missouri Botanical Garden, Powder Valley Nature Center, and the St. Louis Artists’ Guild to name a few. She also has permanent displays in Illinois and Texas.
Friends of the Fredericksburg Nature Center hopes to create many "A-Ha" moments that will inspire participants to become a stewards of our natural treasures. Bring the whole family. There is something for all ages at Wing over the Hills Nature Festival.
