Go out and Get Some TEXAS BLUE!

Wildflower Season in the Texas Hill Country, around Fredericksburg, is somewhat variable.
The 2014 - 2015 winter has been wet and COLD....  BRRRRRRR! PERFECT conditions to produce a bounty of SPRING COLOR and FLAVOR! Wildflowers and Peaches! Keep your fingers crossed! I'll let you know how the Bluebonnets are growing! REDBUDS, Flowering Quince, Mountain Laurel, and phlox begin in early March.

Bluebonnets are usually at their peak around the middle of April, but sometimes they begin much earlier in the season, if it's an early spring, and they reach their peak earlier, as well.

Spring 2013 was an early year for Bluebonnets! A dense grouping of bluebonnets along the roadway and up into the cedar breaks on the hillside.

The Weekend Market, in the Big Blue Barn, is open year 'round and it is a FEAST of COLOR... in the field and on the table! Choose from vibrant freshly cut flowers, seasonal bedding plants for your garden, farm fresh eggs and Pure Luck Artisan Goat Cheese! The barn was built the old fashioned way... with the help of many friends from the community! A BARN RAISING PARTY! And, so, in a sense it belongs to everyone!

Several times a year the Arnosky's throw a Community Barn STOMP! Everyone is invited! Lively music pours out of the windows and doors of the Big Blue Barn into the Texas night... it's a family affair! Folks are dancing, laughing and dining on the AMAZING Pot Luck offerings brought by the guests... from Southern Comfort Food, freshly baked breads and desserts to Vegan Sushi and Vegetarian Quiche, the food is as colorful as the crowd!
