Go out and Get Some TEXAS BLUE!

Wildflower Season in the Texas Hill Country, around Fredericksburg, is somewhat variable.
The 2014 - 2015 winter has been wet and COLD....  BRRRRRRR! PERFECT conditions to produce a bounty of SPRING COLOR and FLAVOR! Wildflowers and Peaches! Keep your fingers crossed! I'll let you know how the Bluebonnets are growing! REDBUDS, Flowering Quince, Mountain Laurel, and phlox begin in early March.

Beautiful bright pink phlox. Phlox appears to be very delicate, but these beauties can take deep freezes and thaws and they just keep blooming.

Bluebonnets are usually at their peak around the middle of April, but sometimes they begin much earlier in the season, if it's an early spring, and they reach their peak earlier, as well.

Spring 2013 was an early year for Bluebonnets! A dense grouping of bluebonnets along the roadway and up into the cedar breaks on the hillside.
